Do you speak to yourself? Either out load or in your own mind? I would hazard a guess at yes and I will tell you I do, every day!
Is your self talk harsh, critical and negative or do you choose to speak to yourself with the compassion, encouragement and kindness we all need to thrive?
I know my owe self talk can be much more critical and unkind if I am feeling stressed, disappointed or unhappy and this is where the practice of affirmations can be valuable and a very useful habit to develop.
If we can practice using affirmations as a tool of self care and resilience, particularly in times of stress, we are more like to choose positive self talk and more productive behaviour and actions as a result.
Below are some of my favourites affirmations which I choose to use regularly and which resonate with me today.
I am not restricted by limiting beliefs, they are not facts.
I am growing and I am going at my own pace.
I am loved and supported.
I am in charge of how I feel and I choose to feel happy.
I am grateful.
I have no limitations.
My actions are intentional and bring me closer to my goals.
I’ve come so far and achieved so much.
I believe in myself.
I am right where I need to be.
and my favourite today …
I am unique and I don’t compare myself to anyone.
